Nan's Glazed Fruit

If taking to a picnic or potluck double recipe

1 - 20 oz can pineapple chunks 1 - 11 oz can mandarin oranges
4 oz pkg vanilla pudding & pie filling mix (not instant)
1 - 10 oz jar (drained) maraschino cherries
2 or 3 bananas sliced

Drain pineapple and mandarin oranges, reserving 1 1/2 cups of juice. Combine reserved juice and pudding mix in saucepan; mix well. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.  Cool. Combine pudding, pineapple, mandarin oranges, maraschino cherries and banana slices in bowl. Mix lightly. Chill before serving. May be made 1 day ahead.
